bargain brawls

LET IT BE KNOWN! There is NO deal great enough to drag me out of bed or even away from my family and friends. I try not to judge (to each their own!) but UGH how can you be so desperate?!

I can't believe there are people actually in line RIGHT NOW. Spending their vacation days camped out in front of a store or mall- for WHAT?! a fucking discount?! Laaaaaaame. 

I used to work in retail at the store level(ew) when I was fresh out of high school & I have seen some CRAZY SHIT on black friday. 

For me, shopping is a therapeutic, relaxing hobby. I'd rather sip on champagne and listen to groovy tunes or chat with friends while I comb through the racks. Usually I stay away from malls altogether (promenades are so much nicer) but if I do have to go to the windowless hell that is the mall, I stick to the early/middle of a weekday. There's plenty of parking, the stores are empty, and the sales people are so much more attentive.

So while you're out in line all night long I'll be sitting by the fireplace with my family enjoying their company. On friday, while you're out hunting for a deal and clawing your way through the aisles, I'll be kicking back with my buddies and a bunch of leftovers. 

Mhmm. Fuck that noise.

This Friday, October 15th marks 6 years of love for Gabe and I.

That fateful friday night he came over to my house when my parents were out of town. I got drunk on whiskey (Jack Daniels, my drink of choice @ 17). We watched Fast Times At Ridgemont High

Might not sound like much but it was truly magical ;D

Today's stroll through Old Town Pasadena started out innocently enough with a simple trip to the Apple store for my iPhone4 but somehow on our way back to the car I ended up perusing the racks of H&M.
One thing led to another & I walked out of that store with a smile on my face from cheek to cheek.
Gabe decided to treat me to an pre-anniversary shopping spree. I'm such a lucky girl ♥

I ordered his gift week last week. It's nothing compared to this H&M haul & he has eluded to having more tricks up his sleeve.

I feel guilty that I can't afford to buy him more but I'm not working right now =/
With any luck I'll land a job soon & I'll be able to make it up to him on Christmas/ his birthday....

spent the day shopping for my little sister. She turns TWELVE next week! Where did the time go?!

I feel like just yesterday I was combing her hair and changing her diapers.

I got her a purple/black tie dye dress, a hello kitty t-shirt, a sailor jerry-esque t-shirt, and this insanely cute chambray dress.

I wish her mother wasn't the most evil woman on Earth =/ (Note*we do NOT have the same Mom)

Hopefully I'll get to see her for her birthday. She wants me to tak eher to see the new Twilight movie. So precious.
