Today was far more productive than I had intended. We found some neat stuff @ the Rose Bowl flea market.

Eryc came along and the sun came out to greet us. It was lovely. My only regret was not having time to stop by my girl BB's booth. We had just enough time to load the car before scooting off to meet up with my Mom and her bf Gary for brunch.
We went to La Grande Orange in Pasadena. My homie Rene works there and he made sure our food was extra delicious

This weekend...

I loved:

+The opening ceremony & all world cup games. Especially ARGENTINA's win!! (RIP Mandela's grand daughter =/)

+Seeing my girl Puah

+Beetlejuice @ the Hollywood Forever Cemetary

+The live music @ a house party Gabe & I went to with Puah

+The copius amounts of Sangria I drank at this morning's brunch :)

+Walking around the Rose Bowl holding Gabe's hand

I hated:

-Seeing the ugly ass angels sweep my beloved Dodgers.

-The Lakers losing to the Celtics. (We'll get 'em on our turf, WE DOIN 7 BABY!)

-The ridiculously long ass line at the cemetary for Beetlejuice

-My sleeping scheduel is all off because of these soccer games

This time around I will root for the same team I rooted for in 1990, 94, 98, 2002, and 2006....ARGENTINA!!!!! We haven't won since 1986 but we came close in 1990...we usually root for France Mexico & Italy when Argentina gets cut but hopefully this year we won't have to! Brazil is strong, do one can debate that...

Hump day

Tonight Gabe & I had the pleasure of seeing our boys in blue serve it to the Cardinals. 4-3. Great game. We cheered & high-fived. We ate hot dogs, peanuts, & cotton candy. It was really fun. One of my favorite things to do in LA.

!!! I love the Star Wars cookie cutter post from Bakerella! Gabe was swooning over them. We will definitely have to pick them up and try them out. Personally I like the pankcake molds more but you really can't go wrong with Star Wars!!

What a great Memorial day! I was up really late (5/6am) so I slept in a bit.
Eryc & I smoked a few bowls and cleaned the entire house. It's spotless! We decided to celebrate by having a little BBQ and picking up some sweet herb at cloud 9 in Lincoln Heights. They had crazy deals going on!:)
The Dodgers won!! (FUCK AZ)...cheap call that it was. YES I'll admit, that's a lame way to win a game but WHATEVER.

Blogging is a commitment! I just haven't had the time. Let's give this another go, what do you say?

March was a hectic month for me.
My bestie Jules came into town. A complete surprise. He called me up one morning and wanted to have breakfast at an old spot of our in silver lake. I, of course agreed and met him asap. It was awesome. Just like no time had passed at all. Like always.
We had a few weeks of amazingness and he and our friend Haddin drove cross country to visit his grandparents in New Hampshire.



Then in the 1st few hours of March 24th my world came temporarily crashing down.
Gabe was at home up late working like always ( a self proclaimed night owl) when he cut his arm. His cousin called the paramedics because he was freaked out about the fact that it wouldn't stop bleeding....but when the emt's arrived they did not go in to help him. Instead 2 sheriff's deputies ran into his house no questions asked & shot Gabe. Those retards shot my love of almost 6 years, my better half, my EVERYTHING. I wasn't there when it happened but his mom & cousin Josh were standing WITHIN ARMS REACH OF HIM when he was shot (three times) & they called me right away.
Needless to say I was never more scared in my life & I got there withing 10minutes MAYBE. By the time I got there he had already been rushed to the hospital (obvi) & it would be hours before I'd be able to just find out if he was alive, It happened so fast. Nobody was sure where he had been shot.
I thank my lucky stars that he's ok. He lost his left kidney & part of his small intestines but it's a couple of months later & he's almost back to %100. He's looking at a HUGE check from the county. My good friend Catey referred us to a colleague of her mother's and he's LEGIT.

This year for 4/20 my cousin Rene & I flew out to visit our awesome family in San Antonio, Tx Liz, Josie, their awesome parents, our aunt and uncle, & my grandpa too!! I was ready to get out of town for a few days & relax after all that trauma.

It was basically a week of insanely good times. So much laughing & toking & boozing

In May my younger brother Alex & I drove up to the Bay area to see our little bro Esteban graduate from Berkeley. We stayed in San Fran, hung out in Berkeley & Oakland a bit too. Haddin has a place in Berk & we caught Jules on his way back from New Hamp. It was perfect. We lost our minds, saw God, & found ourselves hahaha

Now I'm back and have trips to Chicago, France, and Spain lined up. 2010 has been a rollercoaster so far but all in all it's been fun!

What did you eat for breakfast today?

I didn't eat breakfast today. I had steamed veggies, lean grilled chicken, and rice for lunch. Mmm!!

I haven't made good on my promise dear readers. So sorry. I must apologize to me beloved LJ readers as well.

I wanted to tell you about one of my Dad's patients. He's amazing. In order to comply with HIPPA laws I will change the name of said patient and his family.
Dad treats the entire family. The youngest son, MARIO is mentally challenged. He's 41 yrs old and has been under my Father's care for many many years.
MARIO is one of my favorite patients (I say that a lot, but I love so many of them!). MARIO's entire family is delightful. They're always patient and understanding and they do everything they can to take care of there dear son.
First and foremost MARIO is a major Dodger fan. AWESOME. What I love about him most is his obsession with images.
He loves collecting pictures. He saves magazines, brochures, newspapers, stickers, anything that contains an image he likes.
A few years ago MARIO's parents invested quite a bit of money into a super cool camera that takes pictures and develops them instantly like a Polaroid.
MARIO takes pictures ALL THE TIME. He literally takes a picture every few minutes. Sometimes more.
The film is expensive as you can imagine and the camera needed to be fitted with a super resilient case to be able to withstand being dropped or knocked around. I'm really glad his parents have been so supportive over the years. MARIO has captured some really great images. I'd love to see his stuff in an exhibit one day.
I wonder what he thinks. I wonder what goes through his mind when he takes those pictures.

He's so adorable.

I'll see if I can scan in some images that he's taken and given to dear old Dad. They really are spectacular.
